Juan Espadas, leader of Andalusian socialism, stands out. The general secretary of the PSOE-A has referred to the code of ethics of his party to adopt this decision, in whose text, as he has stated, it is expressly prohibited that public officials can request pardons from those convicted of corruption cases. “I owe myself to the party’s code of ethics, much more for being the general secretary of the PSOE-A,” he said, thus disassociating the Andalusian formation from the past of its acronym.
Let us remember that the ERE supposed a hole in the public coffers of 680 thousand euros through a fraudulent network of social and labor aid under the PSOE government in Andalusia and for which, among others, Manuel Chaves and José Antonio Griñán, both former presidents of the Council. Espadas has pointed out that, despite the determination it has adopted, the PSOE-A considers the sentence of Justice towards Griñán “unfair”, however, it will not join the initiative considering that “the request for pardon is a personal decision and family, which must remain in that area and that we will know when the pardon is presented by Griñán’s wife and son” to the Ministry of Justice, he explained.
The socialist has pointed out that the text “may have the personal support of whoever considers it so”, excluding his name from among those people who have already confirmed that they will support this initiative.
The attitude of the leader of Andalusian socialism collides head-on with the former president of the Board, Susana Díaz, who has already made public and notorious that she will sign the Griñán family’s petition for pardon, as did Alfonso Guerra, another historical in the match of the fist and the rose.
