The singer-songwriter from Malaga Pablo Alborán was in charge of closing last night the second edition of the Occident Summerfest Cerdanya, which has been held since last year in a natural setting in Puigcerdà. Organized by the Clipper’s Group, also responsible for the festivals of Cap Roig, Cambrils or Les Nits de Barcelona in the Palau de Pedralbes, the Summerfest started in 2022 with a first edition that achieved a high occupancy and which meant the materialization of a project in the one that, explains the president of Clipper’s, Juli Guiu, “we had been working for some time with great enthusiasm and we have finally been able to make it a reality”. Now for the second edition of the Cerdanya festival, 16,156 attendees have passed in a total of 10 concerts, three of which have posted the sold-out sign: God Save The Queen, Rosario and Taburete, which means, in Guiu’s assessment , which is consolidated as a festival and as a reference cultural offer in the area.

In this sense, the Puigcerdà meeting, in which Pablo López, Els Amics de les Arts, Ara Malikian, David Bisbal, Dàmaris Gelabert and Miki Núñez have performed this year, has had the Village space, where before and after the concerts the public has been able to enjoy design and the performing arts with festive shows. Guiu, has been “very satisfied with the reception that the festival has experienced this year” and explains that they are already working to “ensure that the Occidente Summerfest continues to be the meeting place for the people of the area in the next editions”.

The person in charge of Clipper’s has taken advantage of the balance of Summerfest Cerdanya to assess the festival season this summer for his group: “The result has exceeded all our expectations. Not only have we managed to maintain an exceptional quality standard in each of our festivals, but we have also witnessed a great response from the public. In total, we have counted 160,000 attendees in our five festivals this summer”. It is the result of adding to the public of Puigcerdà the 38,000 attendees –81% occupancy– to the Les Nits de Barcelona festival in the Palau de Pedralbes gardens, the 16,413 spectators of the Cambrils International Music Festival, the 35,000 achieved by the White Summer Festival, which has opened a new location this year in Palamós, and the 53,025 attendees at the Cap Roig Festival, which achieved an occupancy rate of 94%.
