On the first day of summer, it was already possible to see a large influx of bathers on the coast of the Barcelona area. In this case, the image captures the environment at Gavà beach, in Baix Llobregat.

Very hot, very hydrated and everyone in the water. That seemed to be the slogan on this labor Thursday in June which, however, has already seemed like the middle of August on the beach.

The metropolitan beaches of the Barcelona area extend along 42 km of coastline. There are a total of 42 beaches, with a joint length of 30 km (approximately two million m2 of surface area) and constitute one of the most used metropolitan public spaces, with some 10.5 million users per year.

In the case of Gavà, it has two beaches, located about 4 kilometers from the urban center, which offer a permanent leisure space with very well integrated infrastructures in a privileged coastal zone environment.

A system of dunes and paths recreates the image of a Mediterranean beach with little humanization, with a coastal pine forest that increases the landscape value of the complex.
