Strike by hotel and cafeteria workers at Port Ainé, Espot and Boí Taüll stations

This Friday, 90% of workers in the hotels and cafeterias of the ski resorts of Port Ainé, Espot and Boí Taüll supported the first day of the strike called by CCOO and UGT to demand better jobs, according to the unions. The company has not provided participation. The strike continues this Saturday. 130 people work in cafes and hotels.

The three stations are owned by FGC and their hotel and cafeteria service is managed by the Aramark company.

The Aramak company has shown “total respect for the workers’ right to strike” and has regretted “the inconvenience that this situation may cause.”

According to Aramark, “currently, there is open negotiation with the workers and the desire is to reach a satisfactory agreement for both parties so that the situation is resolved as soon as possible.”

One of the workers’ main demands for the company is to recover the transportation service to the stations, which according to the unions, they had when the stations were in private hands. They also demand the recognition of labor categories, boots and warm clothing and safety measures.
