This Monday, the Stop JJOO platform presented allegations against the construction of 77 new snow cannons, which the Baqueira Beret ski resort wants to install in the Bonaigua area.
The allegations have been presented to the Town Hall of Àlt Àneu, in Pallars Sobirà, the body that must give approval to the construction permit.
Bernat Lavaquiol, spokesperson for Stop Olympics, has argued that they have done so given that the country is in a context of emergency due to the drought and climate emergency.
Lavaquiol has said that “you cannot promote a model that uses artificial snow” and that ends up generating “temporary and precarious” jobs and increasing the price of housing. For Lavaquiol it is “an aberration” that the Government allows it.
