The stones and tires placed in an act of vandalism on the railway have caused delays of half an hour on an R11 train that covered the route between Barcelona and Figueres (Girona) this Thursday morning.
According to Renfe sources, the act of vandalism took place on a section of track between Maçanet and Caldes and affected the train that left Barcelona at 05:56 a.m. and arrived in Figueres at 07:47 a.m.
The train was able to stop in time, thus avoiding a major accident that would have compromised the safety of passengers.
The act of vandalism has only caused delays on this train, without any problems on subsequent ones, according to the same sources.
