The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (Aesan) has just published a food alert in relation to some frozen peas that contain wheat seeds and that do not appear on the list of ingredients. This organization asks those who are allergic and intolerant to gluten not to consume them.

The affected product is Findus ‘Superfine Peas’, with lot number L3166670GV, barcode 8434702001867 and expiration date 06/2025, packaged in a plastic bag and weighing 550 grams.

According to the available data, the peas that are the protagonists of this food alert have been marketed in Andalusia, Aragon, Asturias, the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Castilla-La Mancha, Catalonia, Valencia, Galicia, the Balearic Islands, Rioja, Madrid, Murcia and the country. Basque, but it is not ruled out that there may be redistributions to other autonomous communities.

This information has been transferred through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI), in order to verify the withdrawal of the affected products from the marketing channels.

The Aesan recommends that people with problems derived from gluten intake who may have the affected product at home to refrain from consuming it. However, remember that the intake of these peas is not dangerous for the rest of the population.

The Aesan has also published another food alert for a fine flour of almortas of the brand Ismael Buenache, SL that presents undeclared gluten. The affected product is marketed in a closed plastic container, with an expiration date of 2-2024 and lot number SPAIN 2-2024.

The agency reports that at the moment there is only evidence that it has been marketed in Valencia, but it is not ruled out that there are remuneration in other autonomous communities.

As a precautionary measure, it asks people with problems derived from the intake of gluten who may have the product in their homes to refrain from consuming it.

Like frozen peas, its consumption is not harmful to the rest of the population.
