Some 2,600 people demonstrate in Barcelona against the “genocide” in Gaza

Some 2,600 people, according to sources from Barcelona City Council, participated this afternoon in a demonstration in the center of Barcelona to denounce the “genocide” that they consider Israel is committing in the Gaza Strip.

The march, organized by the Palestinian community in Catalonia and Catalan civil society entities, started from the confluence of Paseo de Gràcia and Diagonal Avenue with the slogan “Stop the genocide in Palestine. Enough Arms Trade with Israel” (Let’s stop the genocide in Palestine. Enough of the arms trade with Israel).

During the mobilization, the organizers, who have also demanded an end to diplomatic relations with Israel, have mounted a symbolic action of denunciation in which hundreds of people have lay down on the ground for a few minutes to denounce the massacre of civilians in Gaza .

At the end of the mobilization, in the University Square, representatives of the students camped at the UB read an open letter in which they announced that they were breaking off conversations with the rector of the UB until this university does not break academic relations with Israel.
