The 8,000 self-employed workers who were mistakenly charged a fee of 300 euros instead of the 80 that they were due in January will receive a refund “in the coming days”, according to what the Minister of Social Security, José Luis, said on Thursday. Write.
“We have started with a new system and those people who were entitled to a particularly reduced quota have not been applied to that criterion,” he explained, referring to the new quota system based on income.
The ministry has tried to minimize the scope, pointing out that it is about 8,000 people in a group of 3.5 million. In statements to RNE collected by Europa Press, Escrivá has indicated that the error in the collection of the fee to these 8,000 affected self-employed workers was detected immediately and that the cases have been identified to proceed with the refund of the amount charged for excess.
As the Ministry explained yesterday, Social Security charged the normal minimum fee (300 euros) to the new self-employed, those who registered between January 1 and 9, instead of the 80 euros of the flat rate that would correspond. For this reason, a refund of fees will be made ex officio to those affected by the difference between the 80 euros that corresponds to them of the flat rate and the invoiced fee, about 220 euros in general.
In addition, the quotas for the month of February will be calculated correctly and the 8,000 self-employed affected will be transferred to the exclusive collection of 80 euros of flat rate.
