“Let’s not underestimate the power of the vote and let’s not underestimate the transformative power nor the destructive power of politics,” warned Pedro Sánchez, at the rally that he staged this Saturday in Puerto de la Cruz, in Tenerife, before 1,300 supporters, according to the organization. The leader of the PSOE has thus called on the progressive electorate to mobilize and not give up the general elections on July 23 in advance, despite the fact that all the wind is blowing against him, and to react to the threat to rights and social conquests that suppose, in his opinion, the project that Alberto Núñez Feijóo and Santiago Abascal represent together. “It rides so much, it rides so much”, the Prime Minister has warned about the leaders of the Popular Party and Vox.
“The agreements between Feijóo and Abascal are a bridge to the past,” Sánchez denounced. But the head of the Executive has warned: “You cannot justify everything, you cannot justify the unjustifiable. That in this immodest exchange between rights and votes, it cannot be said that there are hard divorces. Neither hard divorces nor soft divorces! Sexist violence is always unjustifiable! ”, He exclaimed.
Sánchez has warned against the resignation and abstention of the progressive electorate before the appointment with the polls on 23-J, as happened in the municipal and regional elections on May 28 in which the PSOE lost most of its territorial power. Because the next day that same electorate has been able to put their hands to their heads when they see that in their cities the PP and Vox create free areas for the LGTBI collective, the rainbow flags are removed from their town halls or the concentrations of rejection against a sexist violence that they deny. “Let’s not underestimate the power of the vote, and the transforming power and the power of destruction and setback of politics,” he insisted.
The second stop of Sánchez’s electoral pre-campaign, after starting his new journey last Sunday in the Seville town of Dos Hermanas, has taken him this Saturday to Puerto de la Cruz, in Tenerife. A municipality that last May 28 resisted the momentum of the conservative wave in almost all of Spain and continues in the hands of the PSOE, despite the fact that the winner of the regional elections in the Canary Islands, the socialist president Ángel Víctor Torres, will also lose office before the agreement reached between the Canarian Coalition and the Popular Party.
Sánchez, however, has assured that Torres will once again govern the Canary Islands. And he has highlighted the management of the socialist governments, beginning with his own, which has highlighted that it has brought “incontestable results”, not only in the advancement of rights but also in economic growth and job creation. “For those who care about the economy, I remind you that the Spanish economy is going like a motorcycle”, he highlighted. And, in reference to Feijóo’s proposals, he has warned that “repealing what works is gripping an economy that runs like a motorcycle.” He has thus once again summoned the leader of the PP to hold electoral debates to, among other issues, contrast his economic projects: “Less lying and more debating!”
The leader of the PSOE has criticized Feijóo for proposing as an electoral alternative to choose between “Sánchez or Spain”. “She is a false and cheating dilemma, which only generates hate,” he lamented. “Those who do not vote for Feijóo or Abascal are the Anti-Spain?” He replied. “We defend a Spain in which we all fit, and not just them,” he stressed. And he has once again denounced “the level of insults, disqualification and hatred that economic power, the political right and its media terminals are causing.”
Sánchez has thus requested re-election as Prime Minister on 23-J. “We are building the Spain that our children deserve, and that our parents and grandparents dreamed of,” he assured.
