The Calvià Civil Guard has arrested six French tourists for an alleged group rape of an 18-year-old girl in Magaluf, according to Ultima Hora. The six detainees have gone to court accused of assaulting a young woman who was also spending a few days on vacation on the island, according to the newspaper Ultima Hora. This is the second group rape on record on the island this summer.

The Civil Guard made the arrest after receiving a call from some security guards of a hotel establishment. According to her testimony, a young woman was very agitated on the street at night and screamed for help because she claimed that several young men had raped her in a hotel room. She also denounced that at least one of the young people recorded the attack with her phone.

The young woman stated that she had met some young people at dawn while they were partying in that tourist area of ??Mallorca. According to her testimony, she met the rest of the tourists at five in the morning and, since all the establishments were closed, they decided to continue the party at the hotel where the young people were staying. The woman assures that, once in her room, several of the boys began to intimidate her and finally raped her.

The young woman was able to leave the room and the hotel and that was when she began to scream for help in the street. The hotel security managers immediately called the Civil Guard and several agents entered the premises, where they arrested the young people after hearing the testimony of the tourist and members of the hotel security team.

The agents reviewed the recordings of the hotel’s security cameras and, once the testimony of the 18-year-old girl was verified, they arrested the six tourists. All of them went to court after a forensic doctor detected injuries in the young woman that could be compatible with an attack of this type. The images of mobile phones are also investigated to verify what happened.

This alleged group rape is the second known in Mallorca this summer after the arrest of a group of tourists in Platja de Palma for assaulting a compatriot. Five of the six initially accused are still in the Palma prison, where they remain in provisional detention by decision of a judge, who considered that there are elements to believe that the young woman was raped by several of the tourists. They also recorded the attack with a mobile.
