Six months in prison for a taxi driver who attacked and insulted a lesbian couple in Viladecans

The Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) has confirmed the six-month prison sentence for Angel P.R., a taxi driver who attacked and insulted a lesbian couple and their friend in 2019 at the Row nightclub in Viladecans.

The TSJC has dismissed the appeals presented by the taxi driver’s defense and has confirmed the Barcelona Court’s conviction of Angel P.R. for a crime against the exercise of fundamental rights and three crimes of injury, which includes compensation to the victims totaling 1,652.59 euros.

The sentence, which the TSJC now confirms, considers it proven that Angel P.R. She was with his vehicle in the parking lot of the establishment when he saw the two girls kissing, at which point he began to scold them, calling them “sluts,” “shit dykes,” and “this is what you like.”

After he insulted them, one of the victims hit the car the accused was driving with his hand in order to tell him to get away from them, which caused the man to get out of the taxi.

A friend of the couple stepped in to protect them, at which point the taxi driver grabbed her wrist and knocked her to the ground, punching her in the face, which initially left her unconscious; With the same spirit she attacked the other two girls. “That she insulted them and hit them in anger is evident that it was because of her sexual orientation,” states the now confirmed sentence.

Angel P.R. He had also denounced – in a case of cross-complaints – the couple and the friend who was with them, because they had allegedly caused damage to his vehicle by kicking him and had attacked him, although the court issued an acquittal for the three women.
