Sergio Peris-Mencheta surprised everyone a few weeks ago by announcing that he had been diagnosed with cancer and was receiving treatment, waiting for a bone marrow transplant. The actor, who had to be admitted urgently to a hospital in Los Angeles, wanted to tell about his situation to avoid speculation about his condition and, in addition, encourage the donation of bone marrow and stem cells.

A few weeks later, the 48-year-old actor and theater director has reappeared to update his health. At the moment, he is receiving treatment in the United States, where he lives much of the year due to his projects. From there he shared a very revealing image, with which he revealed some details of the process he is experiencing.

Using a message through his Stories on Instagram, the actor shared a photograph in which you can see his left arm, on which he wears a yellow bracelet that reads “fall risk.” ” in Spanish). With this, the theater director wanted to joke a little about his situation.

“New bracelet… I don’t know if they refer to the ‘autumn’ of my discontent or to the fact that ‘autumn’ is coming in my hair. Because I’m walking perfectly, for now. In the middle of the second cycle. We continue step by step,” he writes in his message, hinting that he has already started his chemotherapy treatments and perhaps the consequences of his hair loss are imminent.

The actor also took the opportunity to reflect after his friend Nico Entel shared an image of him from a few hours ago on his Instagram account. In the photograph, you can see the obvious physical change of the actor, much thinner.

“I see myself in this photo today that my dear Nico Entel posted, and I see the imprint of the present. And of course it impresses me. And yet I won’t change for the Sergio from a year ago. I’m in love with him,” he says. .

Peris-Mencheta revealed two months ago that he suffered from leukemia and, since then, he has not stopped coping with it. Together with the actor, inseparable, is his wife, the Catalan actress Marta Solaz – with whom he has two children: Río (10) and Olmo (8).

The actor has remained positive since his diagnosis and after beginning treatment, he has continued with strength and optimism. Last February, the actor underwent his fifth bone marrow puncture, as he explained through his Instagram Stories.

For now, Peris-Mencheta continues with his treatment. His objective by sharing his experience is also to make visible and raise awareness about the importance of donation: “Many of these messages offer help. And this is the message from my doctors: if you want to help, become a bone marrow donor. The bone marrow donation process bone marrow and stem cells is simple.
