Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s security consultant, Gavin de Becker, is considering taking legal action against New York magazine writer Olivia Nuzzi for allegations of an inappropriate relationship. In a conversation with Substack writer Jessica Reed Kraus, who is close to Mr. Kennedy, Mr. de Becker confirmed that he is advising the former presidential candidate on this matter.

Ms. Reed Kraus, a popular Substack writer who often accompanied the Kennedy campaign, mentioned in her HouseInhabit newsletter that Ms. Nuzzi was aggressively pursuing Mr. Kennedy for attention. She claimed that Ms. Nuzzi made flirtatious remarks to Mr. Kennedy over the phone after writing a profile about him. Despite multiple requests for personal meetings, Mr. Kennedy declined.

According to Mr. de Becker, the situation was not about romance but about being pursued by Ms. Nuzzi. He stated that Mr. Kennedy has hired his security firm to investigate the matter in preparation for potential legal action. This could include civil litigation or criminal charges, possibly related to cyberstalking.

Ms. Reed Kraus also reported that Mr. Kennedy had blocked Ms. Nuzzi’s attempts to contact him multiple times, only to be contacted again using different numbers or email addresses. She claimed that Ms. Nuzzi tried to entice Mr. Kennedy into unblocking her by offering important campaign-related information.

While de Becker’s security firm did not respond to requests for comment, there is a growing narrative in Washington suggesting that Mr. Kennedy may have encouraged Ms. Nuzzi’s advances. The Daily Beast reported that Ms. Nuzzi’s boss was informed that Mr. Kennedy was bragging about having salacious photos of the reporter and being in a romantic relationship with her. A spokesperson for Mr. Kennedy denied these claims.

Additionally, journalist Dylan Byers mentioned in his newsletter that Ms. Nuzzi had sent nude photos to Mr. Kennedy, although she did not provide any comments on the matter.

The situation between Mr. Kennedy and Ms. Nuzzi continues to develop, with potential legal action on the horizon. The allegations and counterclaims have sparked interest and speculation in Washington and beyond. It remains to be seen how this story will unfold in the coming days.
