Thermal inversion today in Sentfores, a phenomenon that we can clearly see in this photograph in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos.

The smoke caused by the burning of a vehicle cannot rise and we also see the trace of the morning frost in the foreground of the snapshot.

The vehicle has burned in Gurb, but the close-up and the capture of the photograph is in Sentfores, also in the Osona region.

The phenomenon of thermal inversion occurs on nights with clear skies, when the ground is colder than the upper layer.

Due to this phenomenon of thermal inversion we can observe that the smoke cannot rise any higher and there comes a point where the column deflects downwards.
