Refueling the car tank is becoming expensive. Fuel prices, currently affected by the war in Ukraine and rising oil prices, have reached record levels in recent months. With Brent crude oil hovering around $80 per barrel, at some gas stations a liter of gasoline even exceeds 1.5 euros.

To date, the best trick to save money while driving remains to refuel at the cheapest gas stations. Although prices vary greatly from day to day, the difference between filling the tank at the cheapest service station on the peninsula or at the most expensive is considerable: 48 cents less, according to data from the Ministry for the Ecological Transition.

However, it is not always possible to go to the cheapest suppliers in the city, which usually coincide with ‘low cost’ chains. Therefore, it doesn’t hurt to pay for refueling with a card that includes fuel discounts. The experts from the financial products comparator HelpMyCash.com have analyzed which are the best cards with discounts on gasoline that also have no issuance fees. It is possible to save up to 12% on fuel.
