The control campaign on Personal Mobility Vehicles (VMP) initiated by the Local Police of Santa Coloma de Gramanet has closed with a balance of 4.54 daily sanctions for violations by drivers of electric scooters and bicycles.

The campaign that aimed to promote the proper use of electric scooters and bicycles, as well as guarantee the safety of users of these vehicles and pedestrians, has resulted in 94.5% of the sanctions imposed being on electric scooters. Of these sanctions, more than a third of the violations (34%) have occurred in the Besòs Fluvial Park, followed by Paseo Llorenç Serra (23%), Parque Europa (8%) and Avenida Banús.

Regarding the infractions detected by the Local Police officers, the most recurrent sanction has been for riding on sidewalks (11%), followed by the inappropriate use of headphones, carrying a passenger and non-compliance with the regulations governing electric scooters that in Both cases represent 8% of the fines. It should also be noted that during these controls a total of 7 electric scooters were seized for being manipulated by their owners.

Due to the good acceptance of the campaign by the residents of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, the Local Police will continue to monitor the proper use of this type of vehicles to continue raising awareness of the importance of compliance with the regulations.
