The first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has acknowledged that there is a “theoretical possibility” that his party will not support the budgets of the Generalitat but also that it would “cost a lot” to do so, while at the same time he has assured that the conversations with the Government on this issue and that he has a fluid dialogue on the matter with President Pere Aragonès.

“Our offer is very generous,” the Catalan socialist leader insisted in an interview at the Cafè d’Idees on La 2 and Ràdio 4, in which he reiterated his request to the Government to comply with what it signed in 2023. , alluding to some songs that, as he stated, are “costing a lot” like Hard Rock.

“They have always been able to close (the budgets) in a matter of days, they could have been closed in September, October or November,” he replied to the Minister of Economy, Natàlia Mas, who yesterday said that the Catalan accounts can be closed in a matter of days.

In any case, Illa has confirmed that the PSC’s contacts with the Government have intensified in recent weeks and that there will be more this week. “And I can tell you more, have I had a conversation with President Aragonès? Yes, and quite fluid,” stated the socialist leader who, without giving further details, acknowledged that he has spoken with him “very recently.”

The leader of the PSC has celebrated and thanked the agreement with Esquerra on the Barcelona budget, which he has described as a “useful policy” and an “intelligent” gesture by the Republicans, but has warned “that each area is each area” and that the ” trading cards are not good” to make it clear that municipal accounts are not linked to those of the Generalitat, in the same way that, as he has said, he is willing to approve these independently of those of the State.
