Russian General Román Kutúzov would have lost his life this weekend during an offensive he was leading in the Donbass region, in eastern Ukraine, according to Russian media reports. He is the fourth highest-ranking military officer whose death has been reported in Moscow.

The news of the general’s death was reported on Sunday night by war correspondent Alexander Sladkov on his Telegram channel.

The soldier lost his life during an offensive that he himself directed. “The general had led the soldiers in an attack, as there are not enough colonels,” Sladkov said. “On the other hand, Roman was considered a commander like the others, albeit with a higher rank,” he added.

Roman Kutuzov is the fourth Russian general who, according to Moscow accounts, has died in the course of hostilities in Ukraine.

Ukraine, on the other hand, raises the number to 13, including Kutuzov’s death. This Monday the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on their Facebook page the death of this soldier, who was located near the city of Popasna, in the province of Luhansk.

According to the Telegram channel “Military Informant”, Kutuzov died during a combat mission in the area of ??the town of Nikolaevka (Mykolaivka, in Ukrainian). During his career, he was awarded the Order of Kutuzov, Order of Courage, Order of Military Merit, Order of Honor, and also received the “For Courage” medal, the channel writes.
