Russia went all out with a whopping 367 drones and missiles attacking Ukrainian cities overnight, even hitting the capital Kyiv, in what’s being called the biggest aerial assault of the war so far. The attack left at least 12 people dead and dozens more injured, according to officials. Tragically, among the deceased were three children in the northern region of Zhytomyr, as local authorities reported.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy didn’t hold back, calling on the United States to step up and speak out against Russia’s actions. He took to Telegram to express his frustration, stating, “The silence of America, the silence of others in the world only encourages Putin.” Zelenskyy emphasized the need for new sanctions against Russia every time such a horrific attack occurs.
Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko confirmed the death toll, revealing that 12 individuals lost their lives and 60 more were left wounded as a result of the ruthless strike on civilians. He condemned the enemy for their relentless pursuit of fear and death through these attacks. Ceasefire efforts have been ongoing, with Ukraine and its European allies pushing for a 30-day ceasefire to kickstart negotiations for ending the three-year war. Despite these efforts, the recent attack has only heightened tensions and casualties.
