On September 8, the series The Burning Body premiered on the Netflix streaming platform. In a matter of days, the fiction created by Laura Sarmiento and starring Úrsula Corberó and Quim Gutiérrez has become one of the biggest hits of the season, placing itself in the top one of the most watched in different countries.

This audiovisual project is loosely inspired by the case popularly known as ‘the crime of the urban guard’. It is about the tragic death of Pedro Rodríguez, an agent of the Barcelona urban guard who was murdered and whose charred body was found in a burned-out car near a swamp.

The 38-year-old agent died due to a plan strategically drawn up by his then partner, Rosa Peral, who murdered him with the help of her lover, Albert López. This accomplice belonged to the same police force as Peral and the victim, something that caused great controversy.

In the series, Corberó plays Peral and shows the audience a dark, complicated character full of contradictions. Although the characters are the protagonists of the story, the condemned woman’s house plays a fundamental role in the development of the plot, since it is where a large part of the crime takes place.

Although it is not the original (the crime was committed in a home belonging to Rosa Peral’s family in Cubelles), the chalet used in the series to tell what happened has become an object of curiosity for thousands of users and viewers. This house is located in Castelldefels.

It is a large chalet of 400 square meters built and a plot of land of around 1500 square meters. Currently, it is for sale for 2.5 million euros, a figure that is not within everyone’s reach. The owners of the property, who are trying to sell the exclusive land, are part of a wealthy Barcelona family.

The coastal village house has several rooms, as well as a five-room and a toilet, a large living room and a small attic. We must highlight the large garden that surrounds the mansion and the large pool in front of the house. In addition, it is a very discreet property, as it is hidden among trees, bushes and undergrowth.

While the owners find an interested buyer, they rent the property for filming series, advertisements, publicity… this is how it ended up in the hands of the leaders of the Netflix project. Although it has certain similarities with Peral’s real house, this one is more humble and is further away from Barcelona.
