In La Vanguardia’s Readers’ Photos we can see how autumn has taken over the landscape in Queralt, in Berguedà. The road in the image seems to want to lead us towards this season of the year.
At the top of the Sierra de Queralt, at an altitude of 1200 meters, we will find the sanctuary that is located on the eastern slope of the ancient castle of the troubadour Guillem de Berguedà.
The Queralt complex is made up of the sanctuary where the image of the Virgin of Queralt is venerated and an annex building that once housed the Hospedería, where today the restaurant and the funicular station are located.
The church of La Cueva is also considered part of the sanctuary, where, according to legend, a shepherd from Vilaformiu found the image of the Virgin in the 14th century.
If we follow a route marked with white and yellow marks of PR C-73 and green and white marks, we can enter the autumn landscape of Berguedà in Queralt. The itinerary runs along easy and well-trodden paths. It is an excursion without difficulty.
