Tonight, for the second time in 24 hours, the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Group (Greim) of the Civil Guard had to rescue a 64-year-old British woman who got lost on Monday night while doing a mountain route in the Cantabrian region of Liébana, and that once again got confused last night.
According to EFE sources from the Civil Guard, the Greim received notice after 11:00 p.m. that the woman had lost her way again, after up to 28 people and several vehicles were looking for her the night before after becoming disoriented on the route that connects the towns of Pembes and Mogrovejo, in the Cantabrian municipality of Camaleño.
After that rescue, which took place at dawn from Monday to Tuesday when the woman was found disoriented in a weedy area, this British woman walked again, in this case through the nearby municipality of Vega de Liébana, also with her partner as on the day former. At one point on the way, the man had to return to the lodging where they are both staying and when he went back to look for the woman, he did not find her.
According to the same sources, the woman continued along another path and, upon reaching an area with sheep and mastiffs, decided to change the path and suffered a fall down a hillside near the town of Sebrango, in Camaleño.
The 112 service of Cantabria, which also participated in this second rescue with agents of the Natural Environment of the regional government, has reported that the woman was treated at the place where she was located after a long search. Afterwards, the woman was carried on a stretcher to an area accessible to off-road vehicles, since she had a possible wrist fracture and various bruises, and she was assessed to be transferred to the Sierrallana Hospital.
