The interventions of the Grupo Especia de Rescate de Altura of the Community of Madrid have been reduced by 33% last year: of the 297 actions in the mountains, 234 were to rescue injured people.

Thus, the Special Height Rescue Group has carried out 297 actions compared to 443 in 2021 in the Madrid mountains and, as indicated by the Executive in a statement, this decrease is due to the weather conditions in the region, since the hottest months The cold days weren’t particularly harsh and, furthermore, the summer was very hot.

Manzanares El Real, Rascafría, Cercedilla and Navacerrada are the municipalities with the highest number of interventions, which coincides with those with the greatest influx for the practice of sport.

The months with the highest workload were January and May, with 38 and 36 interventions respectively, while the lowest number occurred in March, with only 12.

The Madrid 112 Security and Emergency Agency (ASEM 112) has presented this balance today, with 234 exits with the rescue of injured parties, while the remaining 63 were aimed at searching for and locating lost people.

In addition, 171 of them required the use of a helicopter, which reflects the importance of the aerial medium in the work carried out by GERA. On the other hand, 19 took place in regions bordering Madrid.
