Repsol and Telefónica Spain have launched Solar360, a joint venture to develop the photovoltaic self-consumption business. This June, the new company will offer comprehensive self-consumption solutions to private clients, neighborhood communities and companies, both SMEs and large companies, through the installation of solar panels.

Telefónica brings to the new firm its technological experience and its IoT capabilities to provide the facilities with a differential optimization in the market. For its part, Repsol adds its experience in self-consumption and multi-energy in Spain, which makes it possible to offer the customers of this new joint venture a specific electricity rate that complements the photovoltaic installation.

With its own management team, the new company will cover all the client’s needs, advising them on the design and dimensioning of the installation. It will also solve any doubt about the operation in the generation of energy, managing aid and subsidies associated with the product. Likewise, the service offered will include personalized after-sales service and maintenance throughout the useful life of the photovoltaic installation.

The offer will be available this June and will be personalized for each type of customer according to their level and consumption habits, seeking to maximize savings on their current electricity bill. It will include a mobile application for the control of the installation and the continuous optimization of energy expenditure, personalized financing for each type of consumer and other value-added services linked to the photovoltaic installation.

For Emilio Gayo, president of Telefónica Spain, “Telefónica is committed to being a 100% renewable company and achieving the goal of zero net emissions by 2025. Currently, we already use photovoltaic energy in our own centers and we want to contribute our operational and technology to guarantee Solar360 customers the best service. We are sure that our alliance with Repsol, market leader in energy solutions, guarantees us future success”.

The General Director of Clients and Low Carbon Generation at Repsol, María Victoria Zingoni, has indicated that “with Solar360 we are embarking on an exciting journey in a route alliance, the most complete in the market, in which the client will be able to be even more owner of their consumption and feel part of the energy transition, with the support of two large companies”.

The logo of the new brand, Solar360, which combines the corporate colors of Repsol and Movistar, reflects the complete value proposition provided by the alliance of both companies, which opens the door to exploring additional opportunities to jointly promote other energy services in the home and companies.

Repsol has more than 3,800 MW of total installed low-emission generation capacity. The company has close to 1.5 million electricity and gas customers, being a relevant player in this market in Spain. With regard to the generation of renewable electricity, the objectives of installed capacity in 2030 have been updated to reach 20 GW, which represents an increase of 60% compared to the previous goal. In 2025, the installed capacity will increase to 6 GW.
