Democratic Rep. Ro Khanna, who was a big supporter of Joe Biden during the 2024 campaign, has now come out to say that he may have been wrong about the former President’s mental and physical fitness. Despite this, Khanna insists there was no cover-up before the election. In an interview with ABC News, Khanna expressed that while he doesn’t believe there was a cover-up, he does think that those close to Biden should provide an explanation. He emphasized the importance of owning up to mistakes before moving forward.

Khanna praised Biden’s accomplishments in office, pointing to initiatives like the CHIPS Act and the Inflation Reduction Act. However, he maintained his view that seeking a second term was a misstep on Biden’s part. Despite this criticism, Khanna acknowledged Biden’s resilience and the positive aspects of his presidency. When asked about a possible 2028 presidential run, Khanna redirected the focus to regaining control of the House and promoting a working-class economic agenda.

In Pennsylvania, Khanna hosted ‘Benefits over Billionaires’ town halls to advocate for policies that benefit working-class individuals. He highlighted the contrast between the Republican budget and the needs of ordinary Americans. Despite facing opposition from Trump supporters at the event, Khanna remained steadfast in his message. On the topic of Trump potentially brokering a nuclear deal with Iran, Khanna expressed support for efforts to achieve peace in the region. Drawing parallels to Obama’s dealings with Iran, Khanna emphasized the importance of bipartisan support for diplomatic initiatives. Additionally, he commended Trump for advocating for aid to Gaza, showcasing a willingness to acknowledge positive actions regardless of political affiliation.
