Starting today, January 10, Renfe will begin to refund the deposit of recurring subscriptions for the last quarter of 2023 (September to December) to those users who made the payment with a bank card. Returns will take place from this Wednesday until January 26.
The transport company reminds that the refund will only be received by those users who have made a minimum of 16 trips and whose payment is not included in the list of non-compliance with anti-fraud measures. If at the end of the month of January there is a user who, despite meeting these requirements, has not received the refund, they must go to a Customer Service point to fill out the Return Form and indicate their information so that Renfe can review their case. .
On the other hand, in the case of those users who paid the deposit in cash, they must request a refund at any point of sale or Customer Service starting January 15. There they must present their subscription along with an identity document (DNI, NIF or NIE) and the receipt or proof of purchase.
In addition, Renfe also warns of the need to keep the pass in the medium in which it was used (physical or digital) until the deposit is refunded, since both the pass itself and any ticket or proof of purchase can be necessary to request a refund or resolve any incident that may occur in the process.
The limit to claim the return of this specific pass will be December 31, 2024. The railway company reminds its users that they still have time to request the refund of the deposits for the passes for the first and second quarter of 2023 in case of who have not yet received them, with April 30 and August 31 of this year being the deadlines for each, respectively.
