Once the nomination submission period has closed, the October Premis organization has received a total of 349 originals including essays, poetry, narrative and theatre. On Saturday, October 28, the delivery gala will be held at the Octubre Center de Cultura Contemporània in the city of Valencia. Awards will be given to the winners of the four categories.

A total of 121 works choose to win the Andròmina prize for narrative, 127 original works aspire to the Vicent Andrés Estellés prize for poetry, 35 for the Joan Fuster essay prize and 66 for the Pere Capella theater prize. The works, as is characteristic of this competition organized by Editorial Tres i Quatre, have been presented by authors “from all Catalan countries”.

The jury that will be in charge of choosing the winners is made up of Margarida Castellano, Francesc Montero, Damià Pons in the essay category; Roger Mas, Irene Mira-Navarro and Blanca Luz Vidal in poetry; Nuria Cadenas, Jaume C. Pons Alorda and Anna Punsoda in the narrative and Pau Alabajos, Judit Pujol and Aina Tur in the theatre.

This 52nd edition of the October Awards will serve to pay tribute to Al Tall, the Valencian musical group founded in 1975 by Vicent Torrent, Miquel Gil, Manolo Miralles and Manolo Lledó. “Its emergence represented a renewal of popular and traditional music in the Valencian Country,” the organization emphasizes. Over almost four decades, Al Tall has been a reference for several generations. “To the point that, with the political change to the Valencian institutions with the last elections, the Spanish right has removed the name of Vicent Torrent from the Torrent auditorium,” the statement adds.
