Raoul Vázquez was one of those chosen to participate in Operación Triunfo 2017, the musical program of Televisión Española that achieved great audience data on the public channel.
TVE brought back one of the most successful formats in the history of television in our country with a very powerful cast and teachers and a team that were up to the task. Proof that the program worked very well and that it was very well received is that some of the people who participated in it are now at the top of the music industry in our country, achieving stratospheric figures: Aitana Ocaña, Lola Ãndigo, Amaia Romero , etc.
Although many of the contestants who went through the talent show deny it and do not want to talk about their participation in the format, the vast majority feel proud of having carved a niche for themselves in such a difficult industry through the program, since they did not they see as nothing bad.
On June 2, Raoul Vázquez released his first studio album, El Pecado. The singer defined the album as ”the end of a stage” and affirmed that in each song he opened his heart to his listeners telling them his story.
In one of the interviews he has done to promote this work, Vázquez touched on a rather delicate subject for him. Before publicly acknowledging that he liked men or that he belonged to the LGTBIQ collective and talking about it with his family, the contestant experienced a complicated situation at the Operación Triunfo Academy.
At one of the contest galas, Raoul performed the song Manos VacÃas with Agoney. The teachers suggested that they end the performance by kissing to make visible the struggle of many people in the group, something that created a conflict in the young man. Unable to contain his tears, the Catalan acknowledged to Formula TV that he had a very bad time: “The week of the kiss was the worst of my life and the first time I had anxiety.”
”It was the worst moment of my life because I felt that I owed respect to my family. I wasn’t prepared to do what I did, although I wanted to do it,” expressed the excited ‘extriumph’ before clarifying that taking that step opened many doors for him and that he feels proud to have done it.
Operación Triunfo returns from the hand of Amazon Prime Video and it will be the first time that the contest is not broadcast openly. This new edition is loaded with novelties, such as the signing of Chenoa as the presenter of the reality show or the 90-minute galas.
Although there are some small changes, the mechanics will be the same: a free direct on YouTube, distribution of songs, two nominees, a favorite, voting through the application, etc. The edition will begin at the end of this year and the castings will start in a matter of a month.
