Some 200 residents of Les Borges Blanques gathered this Wednesday in front of the ‘la Caixa’ office in the municipality to ask for solutions to the problem of the occupied flats in a block located on Santiago Rusiñol Avenue.
The bank owns 50 of the 77 apartments in this block. Currently there are 41 illegally occupied.
The problem has been going on for years but has worsened since January, when the 50 members of a family from Tarragona that accumulates a high number of criminal acts moved in.
The residents of the capital of Les Garrigues claim to feel fear and helplessness. Last weekend several vehicles were stolen and then burned.
