Much of the salt we consume daily does not come from the salt shaker, but from processed and ultra-processed foods: sauces, sausages, preserves, broths, snacks and appetizers, nuts… That is why it is interesting to make homemade versions of these preparations and thus be able to control the amount of salt we are consuming.

Taking advantage of World Salt Awareness Week, we bring you these crunchy chickpeas seasoned with spices. They are an ideal and tasty option to consume as an aperitif or as a healthy snack away from home.

This dish is part of a set of recipes prepared by the Fundación Alícia in collaboration with the Association of Heart Patients of Central Catalonia (CATCECOR), to promote cardiovascular health through cooking and healthy eating.

In this case, it is specifically about providing tools to reduce salt consumption on a daily basis and prepare tasty and healthy dishes for heart health.
