Porcelanosa invests 3 million in three openings in Barcelona

Porcelanosa reinforces its presence in Catalonia. The Valencian ceramics and home furnishings company announced this morning an investment of 3 million euros in three new openings in the Barcelona area: two stores and a new warehouse.

One of the openings affects the company’s old showroom in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat. It opened its doors 16 years ago and will have to be demolished due to the expansion works of the Fira de l’Hospitalet. In substitution, the company has found a new space, the ground floor of the Realia tower, in Plaza Europa de l’Hospitalet. The old space will close its doors in mid-November and the new one will open in 2023 in a space of 1,000 m2.

The second opening will be a logistics warehouse, located on Barcelona’s Gran Vía and with a surface area of ??around 3,000m2. And the third will be a new store on Diagonal Avenue, which today opened its doors with the aim of being the brand’s emblem in the city.

“We have been in the Catalan market for 50 years and we sell to thousands of clients, including large hotel companies, real estate developers, individuals and distributors,” said Augustí Morera, general director of the Catalan delegation, who also controls a store in the city of Girona .

In Catalonia, the company employs 73 people and invoices around 28 million euros. This year, it plans to increase revenues by around 8 or 10% despite the unfavorable situation, which has forced the group to assume the increased costs of gas and electricity and pass them on, in part, to the end customer.

The multinational, with headquarters and factory in Villarreal (Castellón), invoices around 900 million and markets its own products and third-party brands all over the world. The business is run by María José Soriano and Silvestre Segarra, the company’s top shareholders.
