The Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates), second classified in the last Tour de France, will compete in the Cycling World Championships that will begin this week in Glasgow, the Slovenian Federation announced on Monday.

In contrast, the other two great stars of Slovenian cycling will not be in the Scottish city, Primoz Roglic, winner of the last Giro d’Italia, who will continue his preparation for the Tour of Spain, nor Matej Mohoric, who is currently competing in the Return to Poland.´

Pogacar will return to the competition just two weeks after being relegated to the second step of the Tour de France podium by the Dane Jonas Vingegaard, who led the Slovenian by almost seven and a half minutes in the final standings.

A hard blow from which Pogacar, winner of the Tour of Flanders this year, will try to make up for it on August 6 in the road race and five days later, on August 11, in the individual time trial.

Joining Tadej Pogacar will be the Slovenian team Luka Mezgec (Jayco AlUla), Domen Novak (UAE Team Emirates), Anze Skok (Ljubliana Gusto Santic), Jaka Primozic (Hrinkow Advarics) and Kristijan Koren and Tilen Finkst (Adia Mobil).
