This morning, the Pineda de Mar City Council (Maresme) began the work of evicting and cleaning a lot where a group of seven immigrant families of Romanian and sub-Saharan origin had been settling for months.
Most of the people in the settlement lived poorly in shacks built with cardboard and wood. Their main way of life was collecting scrap metal and they had already caused serious incidents, such as a fire in one of the cabins.
This morning the eviction and cleaning work of the PP 1 lot on Calle Llevant began. This site suffered a fire on August 21, and due to the excess of existing vegetation, the seven families that occupied it were put at risk, the car park of the neighborhood residents and the houses closest to the site.
The City Council, for urgent reasons based on situations of imminent risk to people’s health or safety, since the space had been seriously degraded, has ordered the immediate execution of the removal of the camp, in accordance with the consent of the property. of solar. The eviction has been carried out under the direction of the Mossos d’Esquadra and Local Police security forces.
