The debate in the first hours of 2024 on social networks has been, without a doubt, which television network won during the broadcast of the bells. Not only in audience (it was Antena 3 and, in Catalonia, TV3), also in its commitment. The battle was ready.
Antena 3 did what it has been doing for several years: the Pedroche-Chicote duo kept the secret until minutes before midnight: what her dress is like. A ceremony. But this time TVE wanted to stand up to its rival with an unprecedented triplet: Ramón García, Ana Mena and Jenni Hermoso. A mix of seniority, new blood and the modest appearance of, probably, the woman of the year.
The main debate revolved around their dress. What a shame that their clothing almost never makes the news. Not even Ramontxu’s pink velvet jacket could overshadow the tsunami of comments about women’s clothing. There was everything, praise and criticism everywhere. This is precisely what the chains are looking for, that the model does not leave almost anyone indifferent. There are even those who accused the woman from Vallecas of plagiarizing a dress already worn by Becky G in 2022.
All the presenters left a message, but that was the least of it, or not. One of the sharpest criticisms was from Bob Pop: “Is it a trend to leave your pancreas exposed and I hadn’t realized?” Very delicate. The critic added: “Do you want to present the chimes this year? Stop eating in June and hire a daily personal trainer. Not you, Ramonchu, not you Chicote either, just them.” Touch.
The one that did cause a positive sensation was Antena 3 when it came to mixing reality and fiction in its first advertisement. Pedroche was wearing a stone diadem that he suddenly lost. Precisely in the advertising, the actor who plays Berlin, from La Casa de Papel, was seen wearing that necklace. I touched too.
Televisions fight for audiences and income, in the case of private ones. Hence this duel in Madrid’s Puerta del Sol. It is normal that the competition to be the one who attracts the most attention is fierce. But that should not have overshadowed what, for some, was the message of the night: “May 2024 bring us equality for all,” Jenni Hermoso asked.
