The episode of widespread rain in recent hours has ended up demolishing part of the Platja d’Aro Sailing School building, located at one end of Riuet beach. The construction had been left very unstable a month ago as a result of the last sea storm, which had stripped the platform on which the building was built.
Since then, the Consistory had sealed the booth and was holding talks with Costas so that before the summer emergency works could be carried out in this area, located at the southern end of the Paseo Marítimo, between the mouth of the Ridaura river and the Port d’Aro. .
The waves and rains of recent days – which have not been very heavy on the Costa Brava coast – have ended up affecting the façade, which this Monday appeared semi-sunken. The idea of ??the Consistory is to be able to build a small rock wall that will stabilize the area, as was already done at the southern end, along about 500 meters of the promenade.
The damaged building is municipally owned and hosted small-format activities such as paddle surfing or kayaking. The management of the courses is the responsibility of the Club Nàutic.
