The Pacma Animalist Party has demanded this Monday the ban on ‘bous al carrer’ after the death of a 61-year-old man from injuries suffered after being gored by a bull during the celebrations held last Saturday in Pobla de Farnals (Valencia). ), in which another man suffered injuries and is hospitalized.
As reported by the training in a statement, in which it regrets what happened, the exact moment of the attack, which occurred after the animal reached the barrier behind which the participants were trying to protect themselves, was recorded on video by the attendees, who spread the recording on social networks.
“This sad incident once again highlights the dangers and cruelty inherent in bullfighting and celebrating with animals. The death of this man is a reminder that these obsolete and bloodthirsty practices must be eradicated from our country,” said the national president of the animalist political group, Javier Luna.
Pacma has made an “urgent” call to the central government and the Generalitat Valenciana to take “immediate” measures to “end the barbarism” and “give way to common sense.” “It is time to definitively ban celebrations that endanger human lives and subject animals,” Luna added.
For the Animalist Party, this event is “evidence that the lives of people and the integrity of animals should not be sacrificed in the name of any tradition.”
