The judge interrupted the prosecutor and asked if the motives for the triple crime were known.

We don’t know the theory why they were murdered.

-Interesting.

This is one of the moments in which the three members of the Court of Appeals for the Fourth District of Florida, based in West Palm, left a gap for Pablo Ibar, imprisoned since 1994 as the author of the murders of Casimir Sucharski, owner of a nightclub, and two models, Sharon Anderson and Marie Rogers.

Ibar, son of a pelotari who emigrated to Miami and grandson of Urtain, heavyweight champion, has always pleaded not guilty. After almost a lifetime behind bars – 50 years old, he has spent nearly 30 in prison, of which 16 were on death row – his lawyer, Joe Nascimento, requested the annulment of the life sentence and the celebration of a new trial. It would be the fourth oral hearing, after one void and two convictions.

“For all these years he has been deprived of the essential right to a fair trial after the Florida Supreme Court reversed the verdict and death sentence in 2016,” the defender stressed.

Nascimento demolished the evidence against Ibar. He insisted above all that these years have been the keys for him to claim the exculpation

That the DNA test of a T-shirt gives a minimal trace of Ibar (it could have been accidentally impregnated in a review), while the person who in the video where the bleeding was recorded wiped his sweat and left traces of saliva. In another six traces, a genetic code from an unknown person appears, she stressed.

The other big doubt, in addition to procedural irregularities, is identification, based on a blurry image and a witness who could have been influenced by the police, he stressed.

Prosecutor Deborah Koning reiterated that Ibar “is seen on a video committing the crimes with his face uncovered.”
