Pablo Alborán is one of the most revered and successful singers in the recent history of Spain. Only You was the starting springboard for a career that has lasted more than a decade, in which he has enchanted corners around the world and accumulated millions of accolades. However, every artist goes through certain stages in which both the body and the mind wear out, and the best way to recover is to rest.
The artist has taken advantage of the end of his last tour to stop by El Hormiguero, the Antena 3 nighttime program presented by Pablo Motos. There he was able to thank the public for the love shown on stages across half the planet, but he was also able to highlight different instances in which nerves and stress could play tricks. For this reason, and with the intention of recharging his batteries, he announced a temporary retirement to compose calmly.
“I need fallow, I need to write again without all that pressure that one puts on oneself, not just the industry. I want to observe, live as a spectator. The other day I was in Recoletos watching live music and I enjoyed it like a baby. I need to be with mine and I need to write without a condition. I need some time, I don’t know how much. I’m already doing enough things for what’s coming, but it’s also important to rest. And I’m going to rest,” she explained.
Likewise, he also wanted to keep in mind with the public the expressions of affection received after two full years of touring: “I came to say thank you, above all. I have not come to promote anything in particular. I come to thank the public for their affection. In Spain we started the tour as an injection of adrenaline for what came next. It has all been gratifying, I have known my limits, I owe everything to the public and that is why I am here.”
Alborán also revealed that he had become a ship’s skipper, and that the idea of ??composing on the high seas could be attractive, as long as it did not end in disappointment. “Now I need to be fallow to write again without all that pressure that one also puts on oneself. During the tour I have earned the title of ship captain and I would like to create a song sailing through the Mediterranean,” he explained to the audience.
“You have to observe and also live as a spectator, see live music because I need to be inspired, be with my loved ones and write without any conditions. And then that takes time, I don’t know how much,” he defended, also reiterating that he would spend this time away from the stage but also studying, both composition and his voice.
