The Valencian innovative ecosystem is experiencing exponential growth and our startups are positioning us as technological benchmarks throughout the world. Valencia stands out in the TOP3 of technological hubs in Spain, only behind Barcelona and Madrid and, year after year, sees interest in its projects and initiatives increase.

According to the report from the Startup Observatory of the Bankinter Innovation Foundation, investment in startups in Valencia increased by 44.6% in the first half of 2023 compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 29.2 million euros. Data that demonstrates the great work of all the agents that make up our innovative ecosystem.

Within these good figures, if we land on the information that emerges from our hub and explore its data even more, we can see how Valencia already stands out in different verticals, such as mobility, blockchain, edtech or artificial intelligence. It is endorsed by the acknowledgments that startups operating in these areas have received in recent times or the records of Startup Valencia from the Startup Observatory of the Valencian Community.

Our startups are contributing with their developments and projects to the digital transformation of the business, industrial and social fabric around the world. And, in addition, they do it with very high levels of innovation, with disruptive solutions that change the world and focused on offering guarantees of security and success.

Proof of this is that our city recently hosted the meeting of the working group on Telecommunications and the Information Society of the Council of the European Union. This event, which was part of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU, was organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and held a conference on telecommunications, digital and cybersecurity, with the title “Spanish approach to the digital sector and cybersecurity . Analysis of current affairs from a public-private perspective”.

Throughout the panels that made up the meeting, the outstanding role of the Valencian innovative ecosystem in this digital transformation with the leading role of our startups was valued. For example, Ángel Alberich, CEO and co-founder of Quibim and member of the Board of Directors of Startup Valencia, participated in the talk, presenting practical cases of digitization, such as those carried out by this startup in the field of medicine, which applies the latest technologies analysis, diagnosis and medical treatment. The Valencian association of startups was also represented by Ángela Castelló, who presented the advances and main milestones of the Valencian innovative and technological ecosystem to the attendees.

Startups from the ecosystem that offer digital solutions with specific security, encryption or privacy needs due to the characteristics of the service or customer requirements were also highlighted. Examples in this regard are Internxt, which creates secure cloud services designed to return control of data to users; Arbitre.ai, which has developed a cloud platform to support and manage business infrastructure; Datavision, with an operational intelligence platform that allows you to anticipate, detect and mitigate business problems and respond to changing conditions to reduce operational risk; Query Layer, which helps digital companies manage and apply privacy policies; Cielum, born from the needs of companies that want to operate autonomous and drone flights near airports and regulators that seek to open the skies to new types of operations, and Syndeno, specialized in data integration and building scalable systems.

These are just a few examples that highlight the fact that it is no coincidence that European institutions and national and international ecosystems look to Valencia as a benchmark in contributing to digital transformation. Nor is the role played by an international technological event such as the Valencia Digital Summit in positioning the city and its startups in this trend by chance.

And it is that, throughout its five editions and soon in the sixth, which will take place on October 26 and 27 in the City of Arts and Sciences of Valencia, this event has positioned itself as an essential annual event at an international level for entrepreneurs, startups, corporations and investors and serves to give global visibility to the great work that has been carried out in our city.

The theme of this year’s edition is ‘Building the Good Future’, ‘Building the good future’ translated into Spanish. And it couldn’t be more descriptive, since it gives a good account of the contribution that our ecosystem makes in building a better future and the relevant role that startups have in this very important transformation.
