I share in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia, these photographs taken early this morning in the El Retiro park in Madrid, which was under orange alert prevention due to adverse weather conditions.

This Sunday, Emergencies Madrid has extended the warning due to strong gusts of wind of up to 70 kilometers per hour between twelve in the morning and until twelve at night, in the capital.

This Saturday, the Madrid City Council already activated the orange alert for wind, from twelve in the morning until early Monday morning, due to adverse weather conditions, so El Retiro and eight other parks in the city will remain closed until tomorrow, Monday.

The closure also affects the El Capricho park, the Rosaleda del Oeste park, Juan Carlos I, Juan Pablo II, Quinta de Fuente del Berro, Quinta de los Molinos, Quinta Torre Arias and the Lineal del Manzanares park.

This extends the notice to citizens and reminds them of precautionary measures: remove items that may fall from balconies and windows; Avoid driving under trees, walls or signs in poor condition, and reduce speed while driving.

The Madrid 112 Security and Emergency Agency also asks drivers to be cautious due to the possible rain and fog that will occur this Sunday in some parts of the Madrid region, as well as snow in high areas.

In addition, Aemet highlights very strong gusts of wind – between 70 and 80 kilometers per hour – in the high areas of the mountains and in the capital, while scattered rains will persist in the rest of the region.
