A man was seriously injured on Tuesday afternoon after the partial collapse of a house at number 21 Martos Street, in the Magraners neighborhood of Lleida, according to what the Segre reported this Wednesday and sources from the force have confirmed to Europa Press.
The injured man, 57 years old, was working on shoring up the structure when at around 4:32 p.m. the building partially collapsed and he was trapped under about 8 square meters of rubble, which also confined two people who were unharmed.
After receiving notification, the Firefighters sent eight crews to the site – five of them trucks – who removed the debris, helped those affected and shored up the building for review by a municipal architect.
The residents of the adjacent building, number 19, were evacuated preventively due to possible damage to the structure, the same sources have added. As reported by the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) to Europa Press, they sent three teams to the scene, who transferred the seriously injured person to the Arnau de Vilanova hospital in Lleida and the other two people to the CUAP in Lleida for treatment.
