These are the data offered by the Government delegate in Madrid, Mercedes González, who took leave of office this Monday at the official presentation ceremony for 76 new Civil Guard Traffic agents, a body that she will lead as the new general director after the resignation of María Gámez.
This high percentage is due, explained the general director of Traffic, Pere Navarro, also present at the event, to the fact that these tests are carried out on drivers who “present symptoms” compatible with the consumption of alcoholic beverages or narcotic substances and who previously They have given a negative breathalyzer test.
In 2022, the Civil Guard filed 172,111 complaints and controlled the speed of 2,082,431 vehicles, of which 46,377 exceeded the permitted limit.
Traffic agents provided 9,249 aids and recorded 8,445 accidents, in which 70 people died, 167 were seriously injured and 4,007 were slightly injured.
