One person has died in the fire that broke out this afternoon in a house in the town of Ripollet (Barcelona), according to the Generalitat Firefighters.

At two in the afternoon, the Firefighters received the alert of a fire on Tamarit Street in Ripollet, where they moved six crews, including an automatic ladder truck and two land vehicles from the Operational Support Group.

When the emergency services arrived, the fire was fully developed in a room on the fourth floor of a building, consisting of a ground floor and four floors.

Firefighters were able to locate a person who was unconscious inside the home and evacuated him to the ground floor, where the doctor from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) certified his death.

The emergency services have managed to extinguish the fire and have ventilated the house, in addition to checking the staircase and the rest of the houses, which have not been affected.

In addition to the Firefighters, a team from the local police of Ripollet, SEM units and four patrols of the Mossos d’Esquadra have participated in the emergency device, which have taken charge of the investigation and judicial proceedings.

The EMS personnel have also treated the deceased person’s partner for smoke inhalation.
