A train has run over a car with three occupants at a level crossing without barriers in the parish of Recimil, in the municipality of Lugo, at around 9:55 a.m. this Wednesday. The incident has left a young man dead and two other people seriously injured.
According to the Civil Guard, the deceased is a 21-year-old man, a resident of León. The two injured have been transferred by ambulance to the Hospital Lucus Augusti (HULA).
The event took place on the road that connects A Coruña with Lugo, at kilometer 423,800, where the convoy hit the tourist and dragged it more than 200 meters.
Rail traffic remains cut off on this track on the A Coruña-Palencia line. Renfe sources inform Europa Press that all the passengers and train driver are fine. A bus has been sent to the place to evacuate the passengers.
Among other means, the Civil Guard, National Police, Local Police, Lugo Firefighters and personnel from Galicia-061 Sanitary Emergencies have been mobilized.
