One person has been killed and 13 injured when a truck overturned on top of a bus transporting workers on the road between Lorca (Murcia) and Pulpí (Almería), on the Las Escarihuelas exit bridge, in the municipality of Lorca.
Specifically, health workers from 061 have reported one deceased person and 13 people treated and transferred to a health center, according to sources from the Emergency Coordination Center consulted by Europa Press.
Specifically, 12 people have been transferred to the Rafael Méndez Hospital in Lorca and one to the Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia, according to 112, which is awaiting confirmation by the Civil Guard of the number of workers who were traveling on the bus.
At 12:35 p.m., the Murcia Region 1-1-2 Emergency Coordination Center received several calls reporting the accident. The calls referred to a group of people on the bus being trapped and injured as a result of a truck transporting plastics overturning on them.
Firefighters from the Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium of the Region of Murcia (CEIS), six ambulances from the Management of Emergencies and Health Emergencies 061, the Civil Guard, members of the road maintenance service, the Occupational Health and Safety inspector and emergency services and Civil Protection of Lorca.
The Civil Guard has reported that it was a bus with workers heading to Lorca. Health workers have worked in the area to stabilize and transfer the injured, once the CEIS firefighters have managed to free them.
