Night of the full moon, called “of the flowers”, with clouds that, however, have not been able to eclipse the full moon. In La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos we can see a series of videos recorded in Manlleu, in Osona, where we can see how the moon plays hide-and-seek with the clouds.
We can also relive what the full moon looked like on the coast, with some fine clouds and calm seas from L’Escala, in Alt Empordà.
The so-called flower moon is May, because we are in the season when we can see the most flowering fields and gardens.
It’s spring and it shows. The pre-Columbian cultures of America already referred to the full moon of the month of May as the “moon full of flowers.”
In this phase of the lunar cycle, the moon reaches its fullness, appearing complete and bright in the night sky. This event marks the climax after the crescent phase. From the northern hemisphere, we observe how sunlight completely floods the visible lunar surface, leaving no shadows on its radiant disk.
This full moon shines bright in the sky, celebrating the abundance and beauty of spring at its finest. Hence it is also the full flower moon.
