A night of colors and gunpowder in Vic. The fireworks at the end of the festival in the capital of Osona have illuminated the city, especially the most iconic monuments, such as the Sucre chimney.
The main festival ended with the fireworks display next to the emblematic Sucre chimney that we see on the left of the images.
At the time of capturing the photographs, it was not yet dark and there was not so much contrast, so the snapshots were portrayed with more detail.
La Fàbrica del Sucre is a work of the industrialists Martí Miret and Albert Planas, with its iconic chimney. At the time, it became the first factory in Catalonia (1891) to use beetroot as raw material to obtain red sugar, the base of refined sugar.
The chimney was the central axis of the courtyard of the factory complex. Its construction was designed to take advantage of the hot air from the factory boiler to heat the house or family residence.
After the sugar business in Vic went down, the City Council bought the building, which was restored and fitted out to house various institutions and public facilities.
In this sequence of photographs I show some of the moments of the fireworks that have put an end to the main festival of Vic.
I also show the fireworks at the end of the Vic festival from another angle.
