MINI continues its path towards a range of fully electric models and presents two members of this new family at the IAA in Munich: the MINI Cooper E, fifth generation of the 3-door model, and the MINI Countryman E, the zero-emissions variant of the B -Premium SUV from the Oxford firm.

The arrival of both underscores the brand’s exceptional position in the electric segment by combining distinctive design, advanced propulsion technology and an immersive digital experience that is popular with the public.

The fully electric versions continue to see high demand and demonstrate that the “MINI community” has embraced electric and sustainable mobility. From the brand they remember that “Thanks to the sensation of an electric Go-Kart, an immersive user experience and a responsible attitude, the new MINI family, with the typical DNA of the brand still intact, is tailor-made for urban customers.” of the future of the whole world.

The Countryman E’s 150 kW/204 hp electric motor generates 250 Nm of torque and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. With 230 kW/313 hp, the two electric motors of the all-wheel drive MINI Countryman SE ALL4 generate a combined torque of 494 Nm in total and accelerate the vehicle from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.6 seconds. The range determined according to the WLTP test cycle is 462 km for the MINI Cooper E and 433 km for the SE ALL4.

Taller, six centimeters more, and longer, thirteen centimeters longer, the new MINI Countryman has grown significantly compared to its predecessor, offering even more space and interior comfort for its passengers. Wider wheel arches and a clear, modern design enhance the aesthetic appeal of the MINI crossover, which now sports a more robust and adventurous look.

The change in proportions and the incorporation of the new design language “Charismatic Simplicity” have led to the complete transformation of the model. It now combines traditional MINI values ??with progressive innovations in a particularly authentic way, reducing the vehicle’s design to the essentials and combining a purist design that takes into account equally the urban character of MINI and the innovative and adventurous spirit of the Countryman.

The elegant C-pillar design differs depending on the vehicle trim and is based on one of the vehicle’s four roof colors. The upright shape of the new Matrix taillights now frames the rear of the vehicle. Below the model lettering, the body expands to its full width and, together with the striking black band that surrounds the entire vehicle, enhances its presence.

Inside, you immediately appreciate the greater versatility offered by the largest and most spacious model in MINI history thanks to its high degree of adaptability. The clearly designed dashboard and door panels are covered with woven textile surfaces. Its design is coordinated with eight different MINI Experience Modes: these maximize the options for customizing the interior through light projections, a customizable user interface and new engine sounds.

The MINI Operating System 9, optimized for touch and voice control, together with the central 24-centimetre OLED display and the numerous additional digital functions of the MINI Connected package, significantly raise the level of interconnectedness behind the wheel of the new Countryman. E. This is also evident in the newly designed multifunction steering wheel with two spokes and optional textile strap instead of the traditional lower spoke. Compared to the MINI Cooper, the air vents in the passenger compartment are arranged vertically and, together with the vertical dashboard, accentuate the character of the new Countryman.

As on the exterior, in the interior the vertically mounted door handles are integrated flush with the surfaces. In combination with the tinted panoramic glass roof and the clear, reduced shapes of the front and rear seats, the ambience in the new Countryman is now particularly bright and spacious.
