Mundicars has entered the second-hand car market with the aim of offering customers both in-person and online service. The company, based in Barcelona, ??was founded last year by Alberto Fossas, who already had experience in the second-hand vehicle sector since he was one of the promoters of Mundimoto.
“After I left Mundimoto I decided to start a business again with the money I obtained from the sale of my shares. “I invested 2 million euros to start this business,” says Fossas, director and owner of the company.
Mundicars started its activity in June 2023 and, during the last 12 months, has achieved revenues of 6 million euros from the sale of around 500 cars. At the end of 2024, the forecast is to exceed 10 million.
“Now we operate through the internet and in three physical stores, located in strategic areas where it is possible to have a lot of turnover. Specifically, in Blanes, Sabadell and Granollers. We want to replicate this model in three new stores this year, which will be located in different parts of Catalonia,” says the businessman, who plans to expand his staff of 14 people.
Fossas rules out growing through franchises since he prefers to have absolute control of the establishments’ activity. Likewise, it rules out bringing in investment partners to promote the expansion of the company. “We are not a startup,” he points out. In this same sense, the businessman boasts of having obtained net profit since the beginning of the business, unlike many emerging companies.
